The World We Are Leaving Our Children

Before many of us were born at the close of WWII the UN was created. The founding nations signed a document pledging to act to save future generations from the “scourge of war.” I think about this and what’s happening around the world and especially here at home every time I look into our brand new baby granddaughter’s eyes and the eyes of children everywhere.
As disgusting and dangerous of a person that he was, Maduro’s kidnapping was a blatant assault on the international legal order. The action threatens to end an era of historic and comparative peaceful times and return us to a world in which “might makes right.”
Now the convicted felon-in-chief and disgusting, international con artist has put himself (and us) squarely in the company of the likes of Putin, Xi, Afwerki, Netanyahu, Kim, Mbasogo, Museveni, and a host of other despicable characters and I’m sure if you give it thought, it’s not a good place to be nor did we ask to be placed there. The cost will be paid in human lives.
While we continue to live our lives, no matter who you are or what age, race or otherwise we cannot take this stuff lightly. Every soul on Earth is being impacted, every Woman, Man and yes your Children. The midterms are perhaps one of the last opportunities to turn our selves around. Give this some great thought. I’m still optimistic.
