SNAP-Ed Cuts: When Ignorance Becomes the Eighth Deadly Sin

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education initiative, or Snap-Ed is another victim of federal cuts and it’s now gone away under the felon’s dictatorship and the Republican’s spineless and gutless rule in Congress. Still there is no outrage from Evangelical Christians and the ministers and pastors who lead them?
The Snap Ed program provided a focus on healthy nutrition for over 30-years and yielded results through viable programs and assistance to address the root causes of health disparities; obesity, diabetes, chronic heart and kidney failure just to name a few, that disproportionatly impacts low income communities. Snap Ed has now fallen victim to the Republican’s insane assault on the most vulnerable of us, and don’t forget these victims are mostly children. In cancelling SNAP another portion of valuable mesh from the safety net designed to protect the poor is gone.
And check out this insanity. The cuts to the program will overwhelmingly impact poor White communities more than non-whites, and yet these misled and misguided White voters still are crazed about and ovwhelmingly support the very elected politicians that are putting and turning the knife into their backs, and these poor souls are oblivious to their own self destruction. They’ve been sold an subscribe to the addiction and evils of racism and identity politics to their own peril. They are so confused as to who their real enemy is.
But those impersonators, the fake Christians, the so called Evangelicals, are the real culprits. Their notion of Christain Nationalism is their “Fools-Gold.” Within the teachings of Christianity there are 7-vices, called the Seven Deadly Sins; pride, greed, wrath, envy, lust, gluttony and sloth, that Christains think and trust will lead believers away from God and hinder spiritual growth. These happenings today prove that there needs to be an Eighth Deadly Sin added to the list. That eighth deadly sin is IGNORANCE!
