Old Tactics, Old Leaders, Old Results — Time for a New Era

There’s a Bible passage, “Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” It means monstrous behavior, and excessive arrogance and self-importance inevitably leads to failure, ruin, and humiliation, and overconfidence blinds people to their flaws, nastiness and inhumane actions and sets them up for a hard and painful landing; it's a prophetic truth (Proverbs 16:18).

Apply this to the felon-in-chief and it will give the world comfort in knowing that his era will very soon be over, and that’s a fact. The arrogance and over confidence of his mindless, followers also guarantees they will fall too. It’s just a matter of time and if we look carefully we will see that it has already begun. They will get exactly what they’ve got coming. So don’t waste precious time worrying about what they say or do, their fate is sealed, it’s inevitable. 

Our challenge is to look under and inside our own tent and strengthen our own foundations, and this is the real emergency that we face. “Complacency breeds contempt.” The civil rights era has come and past, and thank you for serving in that movement that turned the historical page for Black folks. Black issues are important and critical but it’s now way beyond race. Now we need a thorough transfusion that can bring in new ideas and new multicultural leadership. When we keep doing the same old things, with the same old people, we get the same old results. It’s time that we recognize that these are brand new times. Our mantra should be: “Thank you for your sacrifices, and we will build upon those foundations but we need to clean house, it’s past time for change!”
