BREAKING: Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson boldly defies Donald Trump by publicly condemning his authoritarian attacks on judges which are "designed to intimidate."
The Supreme Court Justice Jackson delivered these remarks at the First Circuit Judicial Conference in Puerto Rico on May 1, 2025. In her speech, she addressed the increasing threats and harassment faced by judges across the nation, emphasizing that these attacks are not random but appear designed to intimidate the judiciary. She highlighted the dangers such actions pose to democracy and the rule of law, urging resilience and courage among her peers. Her comments were met with a standing ovation from the assembled judges and legal professionals.
"Across the nation, judges are facing increased threats of not only physical violence, but also professional retaliation just for doing our jobs," Jackson said during an address to a conference of judges. "And the attacks are not random. They seem designed to intimidate those of us who serve in this critical capacity," she continued.
"The threats and harassment are attacks on our democracy, on our system of government. And they ultimately risk undermining our Constitution and the rule of law," she said.
"I do know that loneliness. It is very stressful to have to decide difficult cases in the spotlight and under pressure," she added as the room burst into applause. "It can sometimes take raw courage to remain steadfast in doing what the law requires."
"Other judges have faced challenges like the ones we face today and have prevailed,” said Jackson, comparing the current historic moment to past scandals like Watergate.
Not only has Trump defied a Supreme Court ruling by refusing to return innocent Maryland father Kilmar Abrego Garcia from El Salvador, he and his lapdogs have been constantly smearing and attacking judges for failing to fall in line with his fascist agenda.
They've gone so far as to suggest that judges who uphold the law rather than tow the MAGA party line should be impeached, demonstrating a deep disregard for the separation of powers.
